Our popular after school program for Grades K-6 is the centerpiece of our offering to surrounding communities. This high quality program is structured like a learning center yet provides all of the benefits of classic after school care. We provide transportation to and from local schools and feature books and curricula developed by highly acclaimed author and pioneer in the field of conflict resolution and character development in children, Dr Terrence Webster-Doyle. Martial arts are an elective component of this program and are one of many healthy elective activities which include dance, gymnastics, sports, games, and character building activities.
Our staff of professional educators, facilitators, and trained tutors also provide homework assistance and subject tutoring. Parents enjoy and appreciate being able to spend more quality time with their children and less time helping with homework at night. Perhaps best of all is the fact that our prices are highly competitive with traditional after school care providers and much less expensive than other structured, curriculum-based learning centers. We also offer before school care and free transportation to and from area schools. Beginning in the Fall 04 we will added to our coverage area by serving the surrounding communities of Biddeford and Old Orchard Beach.
Our childrens evening and Saturday martial arts classes are small ( no more than 25 per class), age specific, and focus on enhancing respect, self esteem, building confidence and character, while demonstrating how the martial arts can be a wonderful means of peaceful and confident living. Our focus on "mental martial arts, bullying solutions, and conflict resolution techniques balances the physical techniques practiced and insures that the martial arts are not misused. We don't try to make you sign long term contracts, trusting that the quality will keep you coming back.
We routinely hold public service events such as Red Cross CPR and First Aid Training at our facility. We derive no profit from holding these events.We see these programs as a needed and necessary service to the greater community.
